Syphon Pot

This is the most unique and attractive brewing method. Syphon pots are heated with an oil burner that is supported by a horseshoe-styled base and handle that holds the upper brewer and lower carafe pots. The syphon pot can also be used to make teas and other infusions.

The lower pot holds the water and eventually the coffee. The upper pot holds the filter and ground coffee. The water is boiled in the lower pot and rises up a glass tube to the upper pot. As the water rises the brewing takes place in the upper pot. Once the brewing is done, in about 2-4 minutes, the heat should be removed and the freshly brewed coffee is then sucked through the filter into the lower pot ready for serving. Use 10 grams of coffee for each 175ml (about 6 ounces) cup of coffee and fresh water. To speed up the process, pre-heated water may be used.
